Subject: No More Paper Pay Advices/Updates - Now Web Only

This is a reminder and an update on the display and printing of the pay advices, and leave balances from the Kyou portal, MyEmployeeInfo tab.

Reminder: Beginning 1/28/05 (for the payroll period ending 1/15/05) pay advices for employees using electronic deposit will be provided online and not distributed via paper by the State of Kansas. All employees are strongly encouraged to have paychecks electronically deposited. At this time the State of Kansas will continue to print and distribute paper paychecks for those not utilizing electronic deposit

To view your paycheck and leave balances on line login securely to the Kyou portal using your KU Online ID at < https://staff.ku.edu > .

Update - Printing and Viewing: Various browsers were tested for paycheck and leave balances printing and the recommended browsers are based on the operating system. They are:

· Windows: Internet Explorer (e) 6.0.2 and Firefox 1.0;

· Macintosh: Safari 1.2.4 and Firefox 1.0;

· Linux: Firefox 1.0 and Konqueror 3.3.

A “Print this Page” button has been added to the paycheck and leave balance pages. (This bypasses the need to use the pushpin for printing.) The paycheck page was narrowed as much as possible.

Paychecks may print 2 pages in length even with the recommended browsers. The length of the document is determined by the number of deductions/earnings codes for each individual check.

Due to the security concerns, the social security number has been removed from the display and print. In addition, only the last 4 digits of the bank account will be displayed and printed.

KU Online ID: To gain access to the Kyou portal you will need a KU Online ID. This is currently the same ID used to access the KU Exchange/Outlook email and calendar system. You do not have to sign up for an email account to receive a KU Online ID though we do encourage staff to use email. You can sign-up online at < https://www.ku.edu/computing/services/ > .

Computer Stations: You may access the Kyou portal from any computer that has internet access. There are various locations around campus, see < http://www.computerlabs.ku.edu/%20 > for a listing of computer labs or <http://www.ku.edu/~nest/location.shtml > for the NEST stations. The NEST stations do not have access to printers.

Instructions Guide and other information: To review the prior email notification, updated guide, deduction codes and a listing of browsers tested please see < http://www.hreo.ku.edu/policies_procedures/leaves_holidays/paycheck_advice > .

Contacts: If you need assistance in accessing a preferred browser, please contact your departmental technical representative or you may contact the Help Desk 4-0200 ( helpdesk@ku.edu < mailto:helpdesk@ku.edu?subject=MyEmployeeInfo-Portal > ). The Help Desk will also provide assistance for employees accessing this data from home workstations. If you do not have access to a computer to view this data, please contact your departmental personnel staff member. Comments about the MyEmployeeInfo tab may be sent to Pam Burkhead pburkhead@ku.edu <mailto:pburkhead@ku.edu?subject=MyEmployeeInfo-Portal > or Karen Banning kbanning@ku.edu <mailto:kbanning@ku.edu > .
