External advertising for USS positions is optional. Unclassified and academic staff positions should appear in at least one print medium unless the department has other sources it feels would be a better means for attracting applicants. Faculty positions must appear in at least one print publication with a national distribution.
For specialized positions departments are encouraged to use resources that target their specific discipline.
