Empowering Groups and Individuals with Rhythm-based Activities
Since 2001, two significant research articles have demonstrated the benefits of using drum-, percussion-, and rhythm-based experiential exercises in group settings. Such benefits include a reduction in stress, increased cooperation and teamwork, and a sense of both personal and group empowerment. This food-for-thought seminar includes a brief review of those research studies and the possible implications for the use of such exercises in teambuilding and training at KU. Most of the session will be a fun hands-on demonstration of the processes used in these studies.
