New Manager Orientation

New Manger Orientation is held in the fall and spring semesters. A call for participant nomination is made by the Provost/EVC and is sent to the Deans, Directors and Chairs. Nominations are sent to Human Resources and Equal Opportunity.

The program is designed to assist new managers in gaining a greater understanding of the University's administrative support functions. Participants will meet key campus administrators and will gain insights about resources available to help them manage their units. The orientation session includes a luncheon.

The program is best suited for individuals who manage (rather than supervise) a departmental program or function and who have the discretion to establish program direction. Individuals who are most likely to benefit from this program are those who function at the level of assistant director or higher and who have assumed their management roles within the last five years.
